If you like quiet, this is a good choice

Written by patricia77

I recently stayed at The Keeter Center while my son was at Kanakuk Kamps. My stay was over the Fourth of July for 6 nights. I stayed in a room at the Good Center, not in the main lodge. My room was $59.00 per night and had a great view of the lake with a fountain and a pair of swans. The room decor was lovely however, with as much thought as went into the furnishings, I believe the ceiling should have been replaced with something a bit more rustic rather than the typical acoustical tile ceilings. The bathroom had one vanity outside the main room and a second inside the bathroom itself. That said, I had at least 3 days where the hot water was gone by 7AM in the morning. I'm not sure if there were issues with this or not but it was not comfortable.
I ate at the Dobyn's Dining Room in the main lodge each night. Every meal was delicious. The prices were very enomical as well. Sandwiches came with your choice of soup, salad, chips or fries and were under $8.00. Meals came with a vegetable choice, starch choice and the house salad and ranged in price from around $11.00 to under $15.00. It was awesome.
All in all, this was a nice place to stay. It's off the Branson strip so it's quiet. I would stay there again but would try and get into the main building if only for convenience.
