Right next to the Grand Palace Theater of Branson is a small '50s-style diner guaranteed to take you back to yesteryear. The staff is made up of aspiring actors, singers, musicians and songwriters, and it is not uncommon for one or a group of them to break into song and dance as they cavort around the tables. The menu is themed as well, featuring selections such as Cheese Release Me, a grilled cheese sandwich with all the trimmings. You can also try the Love Me Tender Fried Steak. A complete soda fountain lines the back wall with more than 15 flavors of soda and over 25 flavors of ice cream. |

REVIEW: Hard Luck Diner

Love their club sandwhich! Nice place to visit with kids. My 2 1/2 year old blew kisses to all of the waiters singing. It was alot of fun. She thinks they only sing for her. ;)

Another regular stop for us while in Branson. This trip we ate there twice. Both times I had the chicken strips. DH had the chili burger and the spaghetti. All three were excellent. We will be back in May!
I would go back to the Hard Luck Diner

Fun place to have lunch! One had burger and fries, one chicken strips, one had a salad and another a club sandwich. Food was good and was a little slow coming out but there was a big group of people there.
The waiters and waitresses really worked hard and were on the move constantly. We were all amazed at how talented all the singers were. It was the best part of the experience.

My husband and I decided to try this place after reading such good reviews on the boards. I got a regular cheeseburger and my husband got a chili burger. Both were very good. We also shared a chocolate shake, which I have to say tasted like bananas, which was really a disappointment because I really don't like banana flavored anything.
Our waitress forgot about us after she brought us our drinks and we were about to walk out because we had a show to get to. Eventually she came back and apologized for forgetting us and the food came pretty quickly after that.
Our waitress didn't sing while we were there, but several of the others did and they were very good. I was impressed, I really expected just kind of amateur-sounding people, but they were all very good. All in all it was a fun experience and I would go back.
